An the Award goes to . . .

Tonight, I accompanied my hubby to an awards banquet in which he won an award for being the best in his group at work.  It came as no surprise to me as he has won this same award twice before. I am very proud of him and his accomplishments. He is and has always been a very hard worker and has a work ethic like no other person I know.

Ugh, It's Wednesday!

Do you ever have those days where you wake up and you think everything is fine and then once you are up and around, you just feel like getting back into bed and burying yourself under the covers?  Well, I had one of  those days today. Once I got up and had my shower, I was irritated by everything. I stomped around while getting ready, mumbling how much I hate mornings, being cold, and traffic . . . need I go on? Anyway, I suffered through it and went to work. After my first cup of coffee, things didn't seem so bad but I didn't get truly happy until I got home, ate my Taco Bueno and settled here into my studio. I know that this is what I'm suppose to be doing but unfortunately it doesn't pay the bills, yet. But that's ok. . . I know there will be more days like today but I also know that I can come home and do what I dream about doing. As long as I can come home and "create", I know I can get through those days.

Now, down to business. I continue to list Valentine's as well as other things in my shop so if you haven't been over there in a while, stop by, we'd love to see you!  Also, I still have the Clearance Section where everything is 25% off.

L-O-V-E - Handmade Greeting

I've also been working on some new things to stock in the shop but I will probably not add them until next week. Also, I'm still working on those Alice In Wonderland Inspired items . . . the release date on those has been pushed back . . . it will probably be sometime in the spring so be watching out for that update. I will give my blog readers a heads up on the listings.

It's suppose to get really cold here tonight. I hope everyone is staying warm.

New Year Resolution and Goals

Well, the new year came and went for me this year. My sister's family was sick the week of Christmas and then the hubby was sick last week starting New Year's Eve.  I'm not talkin' 24 hour bug here, I'm talkin' so sick that he didn't even have the energy to walk and slept for 3 days sick! I finally got him to the doctor on Friday and they concluded that he had a virus and was severely dehydrated which was leading to something going wrong with his kidneys. Oy! I finally managed to get him hydrated and started to see a different person by Saturday but in all that craziness, I managed to miss the new year.

However, I did manage to make a New Year's resolution on my time off during Christmas. After re-doing my studio, I realized that I had waaayyy to much stuff so I have decided that this year I need to Simplify. Not only with my stuff by with my life. I am constantly on the go and always seem  to stay busy all the time. To simplify my life, my goal is to slow down, and spend more quality time with my family . . . specifically my husband.  Kind of funny that I'm saying that now b/c I'm in here in my studio writing this blog post and he's in the living room watching football, but I digress.

Anyway, somehow with the simplifying, I still hope to accomplish some new goals with my shop. I have had some paintings in mind for quite some time  so I may actually be spending time in hubby's studio with him painting while he paints. Ha!  killing two birds with one stone, huh?  I also have started making felt goodies and I love that because I can work on it while I'm in front of the TV . . . it's not something I have to have several tools around to work on like my paper crafting. This also will allow me to spend more time with the hubby and other family.

Now, don't worry, the paper goodies will still be around and will be the main product in my shop. I have just had several ideas swirling around in my head over the past year and this year I hope to be able to bring those ideas to fruition.

Valentine's Day is just around the corner so stop over at the shop and pick up some Valentine goodies.

Studio Revamp & Big Sale

Wow! It's been over a month since my last blog post. How does the time go by so quickly? I know why, because the last month has been a very busy month between Craft shows & construction, re-decorating & holidays. Well, I think that our major projects around here are complete and now I can re-focus on my shop in my newly decorated, re-organized studio. I feel so much more at peace in here and am ready to get back to work!

Now, time for the Big Sale announcement. After re-doing the studio, I found lots of inventory that needs to be cleared out. So, starting tomorrow, Saturday December 27th the Clearance section of the shop will be filled with goodies at 25% off!!  Don't waste any time, be sure to get over there and get the items you want before they are all gone!

Wind Chimes

It use to be that the sound of wind chimes freaked me out. Not sure why. Maybe I just watched too many horror movies or something. Well, we now have wind chimes on our front porch outside my studio and bedroom and I have to say, it is pretty relaxing hearing the gentle music the chimes make now that the north wind is picking up. Yep, I am no longer freaked out by that sound.

Psst. . . . .

Wanna sneak peek of my holiday goodies? I've been working like mad to get ready for Deluxe, and indie craft bazaar and I finally have some stuff made up. However, before I give it to you, you have to go on over to the Mom-preneur Shop-A-Thon (hosted by Tip Junkie) and check out all the wonderfully talented women and their shops. (See link over to the right in the side bar.)

Life in the Studio

In the Studio 10/4/08    In the Studio 10/4/08

Well, I'm back in the studio.

I had my 3 year old niece last night and today and we had lots of fun. Today we went to Chick-fil-A and Hobby Lobby and the bookstore, 3 of her favorite places to go. She was such an angel today and usually is when she's is one on one with someone (she can get a little crazy when she's more than one adult with her . . . not sure why).

I've about decided to try to do a show in December so I am going to be pretty busy the next month and a half. I have done lots of sketching and brainstorming for new products and can't wait to get them completed to show them off.

Making Plans

Happy Friday!!

Nothing really new happening. I have been working on plans to re-do my studio as soon as our loft addition gets finished. We're getting closer so I'm getting anxious to get things going. My hope is that around Christmas, I'll be able to work on it and hopefully have it finished by the end of the year. Wouldn't it be great to start a new year with a fresh and newly organized space?

Here is my color scheme and floor plan:
Studio Colors

The smokey blue is going to be my wall color and the other colors are accent colors.

If you have pics of your workspace, leave a comment with a link. I would love to see how others have organized and decorated their spaces.

Have a great weekend!!
